Tipperary land most Hurling All Stars

The Premier County ended up with the most players on the hurling team of the year, edging out Kilkenny with 7 players in total.

Darren Gleeson, Brendan Maher, Padraic Maher, Shane McGrath, John O’Dwyer, Patrick Maher and Seamus Callanan were all chosen, with Brian Cody's men filling six positions.

Limerick’s Seamus Hickey and Shane Dowling were the other two players in the XV, while there was an added boost for Tipp, with Cathal Barrett being named Young Hurler of the Year.

Hurler of the Year went to Kilkenny's Richie Hogan.

James O' Donoghue of Kerry was named as Footballer of the Year, with the Young Player of the Year going to Donegal's Ryan McHugh.
