Tipperary Begin League Campaign With Victory

It finished Tipperary 2-13 Waterford 0-16 in their Division 1A encounter in Thurles.

Eamon O' Shea's side were patchy in the first-half and were 0-08 to 0-05 down at half-time. 

But Seamus Callanan led the fight in the second half with 1-04, while goalkeeper Darren Gleeson scored a late goal from a long-range free, which somehow eluded Deise netminder Stephen O’Keeffe.

Elsewhere last night a point from Shane Dowling in the 75th minute earned Limerick a 0-17 all draw with Cork at Páirc Uí Rinn in Division 1B.

Meanwhile, in today's league action;

In Division 1A, All-Ireland Champions Clare face Kilkenny at Cusack Park, while Galway host Dublin at Pearse Stadium.

In Division 1B Offaly host Laois at O'Connor Park, while Antrim take on Wexford in Ballycastle.

All four games throw in at 2pm.
