Cork City manager John Caufield says Alan Bennett should not have been sent off in last nights EA Sports cup semi final against Shamrock Rovers in Tallaght.
Bennett received a red card towards the end of the first half after getting involved in an off the ball incident.
City kept the game scoreless until the dying minutes of extra time when 19 year old James Doona scored a deflected goal to send the Hoops through.
