Kerry footballer failed routine drug test

It’s been confirmed that inter-county footballer Brendan O’Sullivan failed a drugs test last year.

According to the Kerry County Committee the test took place after the 2016 Allianz Football League final, and the suspension has already been served.

They say that Sport Ireland have accepted that the rule violation was not intentional, and O’Sullivan co-operated fully with the investigation.

A written decision on the matter is expected in the coming days.

O’Sullivan won a Junior All-Ireland title with Kerry in 2015 and made his senior debut in the league last year, but didn’t feature in the Championship.
