Killahara Castle causes major upset at 200/1 in Thurles

The Burke brothers from near Holycross entered rank outsider Killahara Castle in the feature Irish Stallion Farms EBF Boreen Belle Mares Novice Hurdle in Thurles this afternoon.

At a price of 200-1 she caused one of the great Irish racing upsets in scooping the big prize.

Ridden by Martin Burke for his brother John, the daughter of Vertical Speed was settled off the pace and stayed on well from the second last to account for odds-on favourite True Self by five lengths.
