Padraic Maher to captain hurlers in 2018

It’s been confirmed that Thurles Sarsfields’ Padraic Maher will retain his captaincy of the Tipperary hurlers in 2018.

The two-time All-Ireland winner was first appointed to the role last November.

He succeded Brendan Maher, who lifted both the Munster Cup and the Liam McCarthy in 2016, when Padraic was the team’s vice-captain.

He was awarded his fifth All-Star last week, having previously earned the award in in 2009, 2011, 2014 and 2016.
