8-week ban for Davy Fitzgerald

Davy Fitzgerald has been given an eight week ban.

The Wexford Hurling manager’s picked up an eight week suspension for his pitch incursion during his side’s loss to Tipperary in Nowlan Park last weekend.

Tipp midfielder Jason Forde was also in the spotlight for squaring up to the opposition manager but has not received any sanction as of yet.

Fitzgerald’s ban will last until after a potential Leinster championship semi-final against Kilkenny in June.

It’s understood Wexford are considering appealing the decision.
