Connolly lodges appeal to 12-week ban

It seems Dublin footballer Diarmuid Connolly WILL appeal his proposed 12-week ban after all.

According to today’s Irish News, the forward has launched an appeal which will be heard by the Central Hearings Committee in the coming days.

The CCCC proposed the suspension after he “physically interfered” with a match official during their Leinster quarter-final win over Carlow.

If the ban stands, Connolly won’t feature for the Dubs until a potential All-Ireland semi-final.
