Comerford loss a hammer blow for Tipperary

The All Star nominee was given a 12 week ban for an altercation with the referee during a game between his club Kilsheelan Kilcash and JK Brackens.

It was his first sending off and means he’s wont play any part in the Premier’s championship campaign.

Speaking to Tipp FM – Senior Football boss Liam Kearns branded the ban as draconian adding it was very hard to take.

Meanwhile Tipperary go into their Munster Senior Semi Final clash with Cork beset by absences and injuries.

The Rebels just edged past Waterford in their opening round of the Championship and will provide stiff opposition for the Premier County.

Liam Kearns says they’re going into the game without several key players.
