FIFA President defending removal of ethics officials

FIFA president Gianni Infantino’s defending his decision to replace some of his high-ranking football ethics officials – accusing critics of “fake news”.

People like judge Hans-Joachim Eckert – the man who helped bring down Sepp Blatter – have been removed from their posts.

It’s provoked claims of a cover-up – but Infantino says it’s because previous attempts at reform have “failed miserably”.

He says corruption will never happen again at the sport’s world governing body.
