Tipp competitors miss out at Para-Cycling Championships

There was no joy for the Tipperary duo of Peter Ryan and Sean Hahessy at the Para-Cycling World Championships today.

Peter from Upperchurch Drombane and Seán from Carrick on Suir paired up for the Tandem Time Trial in South Africa.

They finished in 9th position – just over 2 minutes behind the winning Polish pair after the 31 kilometre effort.

Meanwhile Waterford’s Damien Vereker and Tipperary’s Dermot Radford were 11th.
However Ireland has taken a gold medal at the Championships with Katie-George Dunleavy Eve McCrystal winning the women’s tandem time trial.
