County Board Finances Under Scrutiny

The Tipp County Board say they intend to cut expenditure by €200,000 for the upcoming year, while also raising an additional €200,000.

The figures were announced at Tuesday night's county board meeting, where losses of €650,000 over the last 4 years were confirmed.

Independent auditors told Tipperary officials that finances are in a “precarious state”, but county board chairman Sean Nugent says he's confident the situation will improve.

While inter-county team costs are expected to remain high, various cost-cutting measures will be brought into force, such as a ban on jersey swapping after games.
