Concern over club games ahead of All Ireland

The Premier County will take on the Cats on September 7th…but there are a host of fixtures scheduled to be played between now and then in the County Senior hurling and football championships.

All Ireland Medal holder Declan Fanning says these games should not be played before September, in order to give our hurlers the best chance of preparation.

However, County Board Chairman Sean Nugent says that the board have no choice but to catch up with fixtures ahead of the Munster Club Championship.

Nugent says that the fixtures are already behind due to the inter county’s involvement in the qualifier process.
