Busy day ahead in the Hurling Championship

The seven preliminary Quarter-Final ties will take place across four different venues today.

The action gets underway at 1:30 in Toomevara, when the defending champions Loughmore-Castleiney take on Senior newcomers Ballina.

The second game at that venue throws in at three o' clock, when Borris-Ileigh face Burgess.

In Nenagh at two o' clock Kildangan will do battle with Lorrha, with last year's beaten finalists Nenagh Éire Óg meeting Kilruane MacDonaghs in the second game there, at 3:30.

Semple Stadium also plays host to a double header, with Moycarkey-Borris versus Templederry Kenyons throwing in at 2:30, followed by the meeting of Mid rivals Drom & Inch and Thurles Sarsfields at four o' clock.

The only stand alone game is at the Clonmel Sportsfield; that's a repeat of last weekend's South Final from three o' clock, when Killenaule will look to avenge that defeat, which saw them give up their title to Mullinahone.
