Former Clonmel RFC star Niamh Briggs will captain the Irish womens team for the upcoming Womens Six Nations Championship.
The Limerick based Guard has been capped for Ireland 45 times having made her debut against Italy in the Six Nations in 2008.
She has been selected by Director of Womens Rugby to take over as captain from Fiona Coghlan who has retired from International Rugby.
Niamh – who plays her club rugby with UL Bohemians – will lead Ireland out for the first time away to Italy on February 6th.
