Carrick on Suir's Sam Bennett has climbed into the top ten at the Tour of Britain.
The An Post Sean Kelly rider was a fine 5th in yesterdays 3rd stage which finished in Dumfries in Scotland – the stage was won by World Champion Mark Cavendish.
Australian Leigh Howard of the Orica Green Edge team is the overall leader with 21 year old Bennett 10th at 17 seconds.
Today's stage is a 156 kilometre stretch from Carlisle to Blackpool.
Sam Bennett is on the Irish Under 23 team for the upcoming World Championships in the Netherlands.
