Tipp Today – Tuesday December 12th 2017

In the first hour of Tipp Today, Fran focussed on the major announcement for Lisheen Mines which will give the North Tipp facility a new lease of life. We got reaction from Minister Heather Humphries, TD’s Jackie Cahill, Michael Lowry and Alan Kelly as well as Councillors John Hogan and Seamus Hanafin and we spoke to Stephen Wheston from the Lisheen task force as well as CEO of Tipp County Council Joe McGrath.

In the second part of this mornings Tipp Today we had our weekly legal slot with John Lynch discussing consumer rights, we also spoke to Rachel Flynn from HIQUA about the release of the National patient hospital survey and we followed our own Lorraine who was travelling across the County picking up the generous donations from Tipp FM listeners for our Saint Vincent de Paul Christmas Toy Appeal.

In the final hour of this mornings Tipp Today, it was dominated by listener reaction to this mornings topics; Paddy spoke to us about homelessness and the effects it can have on you and spoke about his experiences being homeless, Betty also came on to say that she came across a number of homeless people in Cork city and spoke about her experience with them, we also spoke to Tony who was very angry with the Government response to homelessness.
Johnny also came on to talk to Fran about Lisheen Mines and why he thinks Minister Heather Humphries’ comments about Michael Lowry are telling. We also had our weekly travel slot with Trudy from Roscrea Travel.
