Nenagh's most successful businessman for many years has passed away.
Joseph “Joey” O'Connor brought supermarket shopping to the town in the 1960's and went on to open a number of other businesses in Nenagh over the years.
He was a member of Nenagh Urban Council for 20 years and was also elected to North Tipperary County Council.
Born in Silver Street in Nenagh in 1925, Joey was also a former director of Tipp FM.
He will be laid to rest in Lisbunny Cemetery after five past one Mass on Wednesday in St. Mary of the Rosary Church.
