Six people rescued after their cruiser ran aground on Lough Derg

The Lough Derg RNLI crew were tasked to the scene at 9pm after the vessel got into difficulty at Ryan’s Point on the eastern shore of the lake.

There were four adults and two young children on board the 35ft cruiser – they were all unharmed.

Two members of the RNLI crew transferred to the cruiser which was taken off the rocks and towed to safe water from where it continued its journey.
