Urgent call for help as Cycle Against Suicide arrives in Roscrea

The North Tipp town will turn orange later this afternoon as  hundreds of cyclist arrive as part of this years Cycle Against Suicide.

However the organisers are still looking for households in Roscrea to provide accommodation for around 30 cyclists – the homestay is on a voluntary basis with people asked to provide a bed and ideally a meal as well.

The annual event is taking the riders on a 14 day tour around Ireland covering 1,100 kilometres.

Day 9 is taking the riders from Ballinasloe and on to Portumna before the cyclists reach Roscrea at around 4.45 this afternoon where they will be welcomed by pupils and staff from Coláiste Phobal Ros Cré.

They will depart Roscrea and head for Tipperary Town on Tuesday morning – Tipp FM's Tipp Today will be broadcasting live from Roscrea from 9 to 12 tomorrow.
