Union members to meet today in Borrisoleigh

Owners C&C announced last August that 31 staff at the mid-Tipp plant were to be let go.

The drinks giant said the move was in a bid to realign its fixed cost base to meet the reduced volume at the Borrisoleigh facility.

The company is offering statutory redundancy to the workers – however their union SIPTU has been seeking an increased offer.

The union members at Gleeson's are due to meet at the Marion Hall in Borrisoleigh today to ballot on whether or not to accept the package on offer.
