Two British Cabinet members are trying to present a united front by agreeing the UK will have a “time-limited” transition period when it exits the EU.

The chancellor and international trade secretary, who’ve had differing views, have written a joint article in the Sunday Telegraph.

They insist Britain will leave the the single market and customs union in March 2019 and there are proposals for free movement for Irish citizens in and out of the UK.

Sky’s Laura Bundock says Philip Hammond and Liam Fox are promising to work together.
