Tipp councillors back new M24 proposals

A new proposal which would see the N -24 upgraded to a motorway is widely seen as a much needed boost to towns along the route particularly Tipperary Town.

The County Council’s done a study showing that upgrading the N24 between Limerick and Cahir is the best way of improving the roads infrastructure in Munster.

A motorway to Cahir would cut 15 minutes off the journey time from Limerick to Cork – via the M-8 – and would be 300 million Euro cheaper than putting a direct motorway between the two main cities in the province – that’s the cost of the new National Maternity Hospital.
