A herd of deer was struck by a train travelling between Limerick Junction and Thurles yesterday afternoon.

The 4:25pm train was travelling from Cork to Heuston station in Dublin.

The service was delayed for 40 minutes while the driver and maintenance crews worked to get the train moving again.
