Tourism boost as Ryanair announce new flights

The low-cost carrier says that the additional routes will bring an additional 300 on site jobs to the airport, while an extra 300 thousand seats will be provided over the winter months. 

Ryanair announced this morning that it's to add extra destinations to its Winter schedule for 2014/2015. 

A daily Manchester flight will begin at the end of October…replacing the three times weekly Liverpool service while a new route will operate between Shannon and Kaunas in Lithuania. 

Extra flights have also been added to the Stansted service while there will also be flights to Paris, Berlin, Fuerteventura, Warsaw, and Krakow. 

These are in addition to their existing services to be Gatwick, Lanzarote and Wroclaw. 

The new routes will operate from the Mid West airport from the end of October and brings to 11 the number of destinations served by the low cost carrier from Shannon. 

Shannon Airport has recorded a 15 percent increase in passenger numbers in the first six months of the year.
