Positive news for Nenagh Castle

There’s been some positive news for the proposed next stage of development at Nenagh Castle.

It follows a meeting between representatives from Tipperary County Council, local TDs and the Minister of State for the OPW Kevin ‘Boxer’ Moran.

Deputy Moran has now committed to a feasibility study being carried out – which will take up to 6 months – and subsequently funding will be sought for works to be carried out.

Some of the proposed work includes two possible new entrances to the castle – one on Pearse St, and one where the original drawbridge was on O’ Rahelly Street.

Local Cllr Hughie McGrath says it’s important to show people what the next phase of the plan will look like – and he can’t see objections being lodged if there’s transparency…
