Reports today suggest there is growing unease among Fine Gael backbenchers over the delay in nominating a new Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture.
The death of Shane McEntee before Christmas led to the vacancy.
Meath West Deputy Damien English remains the frontrunner for the post – however other names being mentioned include South Tipp TD Tom Hayes.
