Tipperary student donates birthday money to dog charity.

A young Tipperary student has donated all of the money he received for his birthday to Ireland's largest dog welfare charity.

Dogs Trust Education Officer Deirdre Uí Dhubhda along with her dogs Sadhbh and Cónán recently visited Rathkeevin National School to give a workshop on responsible dog ownership.

As a result of the visit one of the pupils, Pádraig O’Halloran decided he wanted to ask his friends and family who were coming to his 9th birthday party to put €10 in their card instead of gifts and that all the money he received would go to the charity.

Padraig managed to raise €350 for Dogs Trust following which he and his friends were invited to a ‘behind the scenes’ tour of the Dogs Trust centre in Finglas.
