Tipperary Senator deliberating on support for Budget

 

 

Tipperary Senator Denis Landy is meeting with local Labour Party members and supporters this weekend to get their reaction to the Social Welfare Bill.

This follows his interview on Tipp Today last Friday where he indicated he would be voting in favour of the bill when it comes before the Seanad.

Following this he was contacted by a number of party members and supporters – the Carrick on Suir based Senator says he is using the weekend to discuss the issues and deliberate further on the matter.

Both the Sunday Times and Sunday Business Post today report that 3 Labour Senators including Denis Landy are demanding reforms to the Social Welfare Bill – speaking to Tipp FM News today Senator Landy said neither newspaper had been in touch with him before writing the articles.
