Tipperary school to take part in pilot scheme

A Clonmel school will take part in a pilot initiative to gather information on school inventory.

The Minister for Education Ruairí Quinn says that tenders are now being invited to undertake inventories of school accommodation in five pilot areas.

The pilot inventory will be conducted in Clonmel, as well as Tuam, Navan, Portlaoise and parts of Limerick city.

Minister Quinn said that these pilot exercises will enable the Department to identify the best and most cost-efficient way to gather the information and to establish which data is most valuable and applicable in future planning terms.
