Tipperary Gardai urge motorists and pedestrians to be more safety conscious.

Tipperary parents are being warned to be extra vigilant of children walking on the roads as thousands of students return to school after the summer.

5 pedestrians have been killed on Tipperary's roads so far this year.

As well as children walking to school, Gardaí are also advising parents not to clog up the bus-parking bays in front of the school, instead park a bit away and walk the child into the school.

Inspector Eddie Golden says that the reflective jackets, available from every Garda station, should be worn at all times.
