Tipperary family settle High Court action

The family of a Tipperary woman who collapsed and died after she was prescribed a penicillin medicine have settled their High Court action.

52 year old Maria Daly of St Joseph's Park, Nenagh died shortly after she attended her doctor in October 2007.

It was alleged she was wrongly prescribed penicillin, a medicine it was claimed she was allergic to.

Doctor Patrick Nugent, who has since retired, denied negligence.

The High Court has been told the case has been settled without admission of liability.
