A poll carried out earlier this year for the National Oversight and Audit Commission doesn’t look good for Tipperary County Council.

The Premier County’s local authority has the poorest rating in the country for the quality of road repairs – just 1 in 4 respondents were satisfied with the work being carried out.

This compares with a 47% satisfaction rating for those living in the Dublin City Council area.

The Ipsos/MRBI poll was carried out in March among over 1,000 people living in the 10 largest local authority areas in Ireland.

It found that maintaining and fixing roads was the most important service carried out by local authority’s here followed by the provision of affordable housing.

Overall Limerick City and County Council was found to have the highest satisfaction rating at 69%. Tipperary County Council fared worst of the 10 local authorities surveyed at 40%.
