Council accused of dragging its heels on Borrisokane road works

Tipperary County Council is being accused of ‘dragging its heels’ in relation to vital roadworks in Borrisokane, according to a local councillor.

The 4 million euro project on the N65 and the N52 through the North Tipp town has been long awaited – the current condition of the roads is described as a ‘deplorable’ and a ‘disgrace’.

The local authority had said before Christmas that works were due to begin on the roads in early 2017, but it has now emerged that the project won’t get underway until April.

The roads are a main National route, which comes under the remit of Transport Infrastructure Ireland.
