Tipp Hoteliers welcome axing of travel tax

From today the levy goes from 3 euro to zero and coincides with a raft of new Ryanair routes taking to the skies above Shannon.

Those flights are the result of the government's pledge to scrap the travel tax.

Regional representative for the Irish Hotels Federation and Nenagh Hotelier Matt Muller says the sector is very positive about the move and extremely hopeful of its impact locally.
