The reduced rate was introduced in 2011 in a bid to boost the beleaguered hospitality sector which is a major employer right across Tipperary.
Among the businesses which benefited were restaurant and catering services; hotel and holiday accommodation; cinemas, theatres and hairdressing services helping to create an estimated 10,000 jobs across the sector.
Deputy Michael Lowry says the reduced rate has been a boost to businesses throughout Tipperary and is urging the Government to go a step further.
