Tipp TDs urged to attend meeting on roads funding

Tipperary’s TDs have been called on to attend a meeting of the Nenagh Municipal District to address the growing problem of roads funding.

It follows a number of public meetings highlighting how poor roads are causing damage to cars in areas like Terryglass.

Cathaoirleach John Carroll says people have the right to protest but Tipp TD’s should be doing more to restore funding to the local authority:

Meanwhile, Councillor Joe Hannigan criticised the Minister for Transport for focusing his efforts on bringing in stricter legislation on drink driving, rather than improving the disrepair of our roads.

All the elected members of the Nenagh municipal meeting agreed that the people of Tipperary are fed up with paying high rates of income tax, property tax and motor tax, when they don’t feel the TII are looking after their roads.
