Calls have been made for the HSE to start funding the training of assistance dogs for Tipperary children with autism.

Deputy Jackie Cahill raised the issue with Tánaiste Simon Coveney and has written to Minister for Heath Simon Harris.

Currently the HSE has no involvement with Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland.

Deputy Cahill says that must change.
