A Tipperary TD has called for the resignation of Transport Minister Shane Ross.
Transport Infrastructure Ireland have written to all Local Authorities, including Tipperary County Council, to warn them that the Ordinary Maintenance Allocation for roads will plummet by 30% in 2018.
The overall national road current expenditure budget for 2018 is also set to fall by 15% next year.
The Transport Minister said he was unaware that this was the case at a committee meeting this week.
Deputy Jackie Cahill told Tipp FM that these latest cuts show the Government has no interest in rural Ireland.
