Teenager killed in Nenagh farm tragedy

A teenager has died in a farming accident in North Tipperary.

The accident occured on a farm near Newtown in Nenagh yesterday afternoon.

The Ballina Killaloe area has been devastated by the tragic death of the teenager.

He’s been named locally as Patrick McCormack of Ryninch Ballina. The 15 year old was a Junior cert student at St Anne’s in Killaloe.

He was fatally injured when he fell from the back of a tractor while working on a family member’s farm near Bulaglass, in Newtown near Nenagh yesterday.

Tributes have been paid to the popular teenger today, with his local GAA club in Ballina, offering their condolences to the family saying that Patrick was involved in both hurling and football from a young age at the club and also played with Ballina National school.

Gardai and the Health and Safety Authority are investigating the incident

His death represents the first fatal farm accident of 2018.
