The Taoiseach says he'll await the outcome of a report into the deaths of four babies in the Midlands – before considering calls for a public inquiry.
A television documentary revealed that the infants died at the Midlands Regional Hospital in Portlaoise shortly after birth – in similar circumstances.
However they weren't suffering from any abnormalities at the onset of labour.
Roisin and Mark Molloy from Co Offaly – who's baby son Mark was among the babies to die – are seeking an independent inquiry into the incidents.
However Enda Kenny says no decision will be made until the report requested by the Health Minister is completed:
