South Tipp Oireachtas members to meet with Clonmel Borough Councillors.

South Tipperary Oireachtas members are to attend a meeting of Clonmel Borough Council next week where they will be urged to secure the future of the Local Authority.

The Council is one of many which now face closure, as part of Minister Phil Hogan's plans to reform local government.

Members of Clonmel Borough claim that they should be exempt from the cull as they serve a bigger population than the average Council.

That meeting will take place in Clonmel next Monday evening.
