The Midwest region has received a major boost with the announcement of two new services in Shannon Airport.
Air Canada will operate the a new direct service to Toronto four days a week from June to October next year, while, Ryanair is to add a twice weekly service to Barcelona Reus from March until the end of October.
The services, while beneficial to people in the region wishing to travel, will also draw tourists into the country.
Andrew Murphy, Managing Director at Shannon Airport told Tipp Today that Canadian tourists tend to stay a long time when they come to Ireland.
