The US Senate has voted overwhelmingly for new sanctions on Russia, Iran and North Korea, despite Donald Trump’s objections.
The bill will now be sent to the White House for the president to sign into law or veto.
It puts him in a tough position by forcing him to take a hard line on Moscow, or reject the legislation and risk angering his own party.
