Garda are investigating after a gang posing as local gaa fundraisers targetted a farmer in North Tipperary.
The fraudsters claimed to be seeking scrap metal for Roscrea Gaa Hurling Club as part of efforts to raise money and when the householder stated he didn't have any, they proceeded to steal other items.
Roscrea Hurling Club says it has never fundraised through the collection of scrap metal and Treasurer of Paul Phelan is urging people to report such incidents to the gardai
