The Post Office in Terryglass will close today – supposedly on a temporary basis.
However locals aren’t convinced that it will ever reopen following a strategic review by An Post.
There are fears many other post offices across Tipperary could suffer a similar fate in the months ahead.
Matthew O’Farrell is Manager of the Post Office in Terryglass – he says the closure of the outlet will have a huge impact on pensioners and social welfare recipients in the area.
