Woman dies in Tipperary crash

The single vehicle crash happened on the M7 motorway near Nenagh.

The driver was the only occupant of the car – she was pronounced dead at the scene.

It’s understood the vehicle struck a barrier on the northbound lane just after Junction 24 at around 7am.

The motorway will be closed for a number of hours while Gardaí conduct a forensic collision investigation at the scene.

Diversions are in place between Junction 24 Toomevara and Junction 23 Moneygall

This morning’s fatality brings to 8 the number of people killed on the roads of Tipperary in 2017.
