Tipp TD questions GoSafe contract

The company which operates the country’s speed detection cameras was paid €12 million per-month, according to new figures released today.

The data shows GoSafe – which is contracted to provide 7,000 hours of monitoring each month – receives a fee of €151 per-hour.

It also gets a retainer of €45,000 each month.

Independent Tipperary TD Mattie McGrath says he would prefer to see the money allocated to improving Garda resources.
