Tipperary County Council say that flooding caused by the river Tar in south Tipp has subsided.

After heavy rainfall in recent days, the river had burst its banks causing problems for motorists between Goatenbridge and Newcastle.

The road is again passable since early this morning.

The Council says they had to deal with some localised issues in recent days, but there wasn’t widespread flooding in the county.
