North Tipp group make pilgrimage to celebrate Pope’s visit

A group from North Tipperary are today beginning a pilgrimage walk to celebrate the Pope’s visit to Ireland next week.

They are walking 220 kilometres in stages, and are stopping in different towns and villages in the Premier county over the next 10 days.

The group left Nenagh this morning, and will return this evening, before setting off early tomorrow morning for Lorrha.

Pope Francis is visiting Knock and Dublin on the weekend of the 25th and 26th of August.
